The Mosque architecture, in fact, should not only accommodate pragmatic activities but also must have a spatial configuration related to the symbolic ritual activities that could stimulate the congregation’s awareness in entering the sacred space. The current research discusses the relationship between the sacred ritual of group worship and the spatial configuration of Mosque architecture. It aimed revealing how the sacred function of congregational rituals is correlated to the spatial configuration of Sulthoni Plosokuning Mosque and the specific aspects that become the indicators of the correlation. The analysis uses an elaboration of universal sacrality theory, the concept of rituals in Mosque architecture, architectural configuration theory, and architectural anatomy theory. The result of analysis showed that of the seven aspects of spatial configuration being discussed, four aspects were found to have dominant relationship with sacred ritual worship, three aspects had less dominant relations and one aspect has no relationship with the sacred ritual of worship.

© 2020 Nadya Wicitra Paramitha, Purnama Salura
Nadya Wicitra Paramitha, Purnama Salura Copyright (c) 2020 Nadya Wicitra Paramitha, Purnama Salura Sat, 01 Aug 2020 00:00:00 +0700 Akulturasi arsitektur lokal dan modern pada bangunan P-House, Salatiga
Local and modern acculturation architecture in P-House building, Salatiga

Local and modern acculturated house concept is widely applied, one of which is the P-House by Budi Pradono in Salatiga. A city that is clean, organized and free of vandalism is able to meet the city's identity standards. Uncontrolled vandalism perpetrators have increasingly tarnish the privilege of Yogyakarta as a city of education and culture. The act of graffiti tagging is done by writing the name of the gang/group on the media/building in public spaces using spray paint as a form of existence. Graffiti tagging will cause visual pollution that damages the privileges of the City of Yogyakarta. The phenomenon of the rise of graffiti tagging causes problems in the visualization of the representation of Yogyakarta City. The purpose of this study is to identify physical setting factors that influence the activity of graffiti tagging in Yogyakarta City and provide ideas through the preparation of Urban Design Guidelines related to graffiti tagging problems as a form of vandalism that occurs in Yogyakarta City. This study examines the physical settings and activities on the AM Sangaji corridor which is part of the imaginary axis of the city of Yogyakarta but often becomes the location of vandalism. Data collection is carried out through surveys and literature studies related to building functions, mass, height, color, transparency and setback. The identification results are then analyzed based on each element that is used as a research variable to find building criteria that tend to be objects of vandalism. The results of the study show that locations that are often used as graffiti tagging actions are the places that are located on the main road. The physical setting factors that most influenced the vandalism were lack of vegetation, small building mass, lack of transparency, and narrow setback dimensions.

© 2020 Nino Ardhiansyah
Nino Ardhiansyah Copyright (c) 2020 Nino Ardhiansyah Sat, 01 Aug 2020 00:00:00 +0700 Analisis kondisi lingkungan, bangunan dan tempat rekreasi lansia pada panti jompo, Studi kasus: Sasana Tresna Werdha Karya Bhakti Ria Pembangunan dan Panti Werda Wisma Mulia
Analysis of environment, building and recreational space for elderly center

This research is motivated by the existence of the poor facilities of nursing homes for elderly people provided by government. This has become very important at this time where the need for education about biota and marine life is increasingly threatened by landfill and the uncontrolled fishing on a large scale. Research on architectural concepts in oceanarium buildings uses qualitative research methods. By collecting data and studies both from observation and literature. The conclusion in the form of the influence of the existence of each biological criterion applied to an oceanarium building.
Adhelia Adjani Rahmah, Wafirul Aqli Copyright (c) 2020 Adhelia Adjani Rahmah, Wafirul Aqli Sat, 01 Aug 2020 00:00:00 +0700 Penerapan prinsip desain arsitektur biofilik pada Riau Mitigation and Disaster Management Center
The application of biophilic architecture design principle on Riau Mitigation and Disaster Management Center

Disaster is a series of events that cause significant loss, even casualties. Indonesia, which was called as Laboratory of Disaster was characterized by the increase of complexity and number of disasters each year, which make mitigation and disaster management skill should be a top priority. Hence, a facility where education for mitigation could be held as needed. This facility was designed for education, recreation, and last evacuation shelter, located in Pekanbaru, Riau, due there wasn’t this type of facility in the province. Considering its function, biophilic design was chosen due to its principle of respecting nature; hence users’ productivity, physical and mental health increase and the existence of natural elements could give comfort and refuge. The design methodology was a site survey and data collection about Biophilic architecture design principles and mitigation and disaster prevention center from journals. The result of this methodology is a design of Mitigation and Disaster Management Center in Riau.

© 2020 Miftahul Karima, Yohannes Firzal, Gun Faisal
Miftahul Karima, Yohannes Firzal, Gun Faisal Copyright (c) 2020 Miftahul Karima, Yohannes Firzal, Gun Faisal Sat, 01 Aug 2020 00:00:00 +0700 Integrasi spasial dalam perancangan batas fisik perumahan kota, Studi kasus: Perumahan Setra Duta, Bandung, Jawa Barat
Spatial integration in physical boundary design of urban housing

The increasing number of residents of a city, the higher level of citizens' need for housing. The community's need for housing is answered by the developer by building housing in several areas. However, the phenomenon that occurs at this time is that the housing development often does not pay attention to the existence of existing settlements first, so that physical boundaries are created with poor physical spatial quality and create barriers between new housing and the surrounding environment. The physical boundaries that frame the city's housing complex certainly lead to the phenomenon of spatial segregation in the surrounding environment. Hence, the main purpose of this journal is to find out the extent of spatial integration that is applied to the physical boundaries of Setra Duta Bandung housing. The discussion method is carried out by analyzing problems and opportunities that arise at the physical boundaries in the study area, synergizing with the study of literature on spatial integration in the physical boundaries of urban housing. During the observations, it was found that the physical boundaries of Setra Duta housing showed spatial segregation with the part of the city that surrounds it. Spatial segregation is created as a result of something physical that causes or clarifies differences. This phenomenon brings negative impacts such as deteriorating the physical quality of spatial and shared space in the housing border area.

© 2020 Fauziyyah Sofiyah Radliyatullah, Yohanes Basuki Dwisusanto
Fauziyyah Sofiyah Radliyatullah, Yohanes Basuki Dwisusanto Copyright (c) 2020 Fauziyyah Sofiyah Radliyatullah, Yohanes Basuki Dwisusanto Sat, 01 Aug 2020 00:00:00 +0700
