For a long time, technology was considered a specialized area of applied science that did not stimulate profound philosophical questions. Simultaneously, philosophers were often left out of discussions shaping important aspects of technological development due to their association with overly theoretical, “ivory tower” perspectives. Despite the evolution of the “philosophy of technology,” especially following the empirical turn, a divide persists between philosophy and technology.
This volume reflects different approaches to the relationship between the human person and technology. In today’s increasingly technological world, a myriad of different and dizzying challenges face humanity: the ever-closer relationship between man and machine, the exponential development of Artificial Intelligence, man's relationship with virtual worlds, the relationship with new realities such as the neuro potentiation of his capacities, the appearance of robots in everyday life, and so on.
