Parametric modeling practice for the first-year architecture students learning

Pemodelan parametrik telah dipandang sebagai keterampilan yang prospektif dalam pendidikan dan praktik arsitektur. Ketrampilan ini memberi kesempatan kepada perancang untuk menghasilkan banyak alternatif desain dan geometri kompleks secara instan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kreativitas merancang. Dengan menyadari potensi dan kapabilitas-nya, studi ini meneliti tentang bagaimana pemodelan parametrik dapat dipraktikkan pada awal pendidikan arsitektur untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan kemampuan desain mahasiswa. Temuan studi ini berbasis pada observasi workshop pemodelan parametrik yang telah diikuti oleh 150 mahasiswa arsitektur tahun pertama di Indonesia. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemodelan parametrik dapat dipraktikkan oleh mahasiswa tahun pertama sebagai media untuk meningkatkan kreativitas merancang. Selain itu, pemodelan parametrik dapat meningkatkan intuisi desain mahasiswa dalam beberapa aspek sehingga dapat memperlancar pengembangan keterampilan desain dalam pembelajaran arsitektur. Ada beberapa pelajaran yang dibahas dalam studi ini agar pembelajaran desain parametrik dapat berjalan dengan efektif, antara lain pendekatan metafora pada eksplorasi parametrik, komunikasi aktif antara mahasiswa dan pengajar serta penekanan pada alat pencari inspirasi.
