Peer Review Process

The first stage is an initial editorial review (also known as Desktop Review or Screening Review) by one of the section editors or the editor-in-chief, which results in a decision to send the manuscript to peer review (stage 2) or editorial rejection.

If the manuscript passes to stage 2, a Section Editor will be assigned to manage the review process. Here, two members of the BERBAKTI: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat review panel will be assigned to review the manuscript. Our review panel consists of researchers and practitioners selected from section editors and other experienced researchers. Reviewers selected to review an article are chosen based on their experience, expertise, and interests relevant to the focus of the article.

BERBAKTI: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat uses a double-blind review process. In this process, reviewers know the identity of the authors, but authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. Direct communication between reviewers and authors is not permitted.

Articles will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  1. Contributions to improving community service outcomes, including training, marketing, local food security, appropriate technology, design and construction, community empowerment, social access, border areas, underdeveloped regions, and education for sustainable development. Outcomes of activities in addressing and managing various potentials, constraints, challenges, and problems that exist in the community.
  2. The quality of the background of the problem, review of previous research literature or community service as the basis for the scientific originality of the article, scientific originality statement, and proposed solutions to the issues raised.
  3. Clarity of the objectives of community service activities.
  4. Clarity of the appropriate implementation methods for community service.
  5. The quality of empirical data, analysis, presentation, and interpretation of community service results.
  6. The quality of writing (including structure, writing style, and clarity of content)

The editor will notify you of the review results as soon as possible, within 2-6 weeks. The editor will check for plagiarism using Plagiarism Checker X or Turnitin for articles submitted before they are sent to reviewers. We do not process content that contains plagiarism. If an article has a plagiarism rate of more than 20% based on the results of the check, the article will be rejected. This journal uses Mendeley or Endnote as a Reference Manager. The language used in this journal is Indonesian.

Accepted articles will be available online (free download) after the journal's peer-review process. The final decision regarding the acceptance of articles will be made by the Editor based on the reviewers' comments. Articles returned to the author for revision must be returned to the editor without delay. Articles revised and returned more than 20 days later will be considered as new submissions. Revised articles can be submitted to the editorial office through the online submission interface on our journal website.
