Aims and Scope

JBIOEDRA: Journal of Biology Education (JBIOEDRA) encourages the submission of manuscripts focusing on the advancement of biology and bioscience education across all levels of learning. The journal covers a wide range of topics related to the teaching, learning, and development of biology education, including but not limited to:

  • Biology education at elementary, secondary, and higher education levels

  • Curriculum development and instructional strategies in biology

  • Integration of technology and digital media in biology teaching

  • Biology learning assessment and evaluation

  • Pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) in biology

  • Teacher training and professional development in biological sciences

  • Environmental and sustainability education within the scope of biology

  • Interdisciplinary and innovative approaches in bioscience education

  • Action research and classroom-based educational practices

  • Development of learning media and laboratory-based instruction

The journal also welcomes studies exploring educational policy, inclusive education practices, and socio-cultural aspects that influence biology learning in diverse educational contexts.

Article Types

JBIOEDRA accepts the following types of manuscripts:
(i) Research Papers – Full-length original research articles (maximum 8,000 words, including tables and figures);
(ii) Reviews – Comprehensive literature reviews (maximum 8,000 words);
(iii) Short Communications – Brief reports or preliminary studies (maximum 2,500 words, or more if justified as a pre-study).

All submitted manuscripts will undergo a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, relevance, and contribution to the field of biology education.
