Peer Review Process

The Journal Pendidikan Biologi (JBIOEDRA) implements a rigorous peer review process to ensure the scientific quality and integrity of each manuscript published. The peer review process at JBIOEDRA involves the following stages:

  1. Manuscript Submission:
    • Authors submit manuscripts through the JBIOEDRA online journal management system.
    • Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure it aligns with the journal’s focus and scope and adheres to the submission guidelines.
  2. Initial Screening by the Editor:
    • The editor assesses whether the manuscript meets JBIOEDRA's basic criteria.
    • Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are returned to the authors for revision or rejection.
  3. Reviewer Selection:
    • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to two or more reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
    • The review process is conducted in a double-blind manner, ensuring the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential to maintain objectivity.
  4. Review Process:
    • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
      • Originality and scientific contribution
      • Research methodology
      • Data analysis and interpretation
      • Quality of writing and presentation
      • Relevance to the field of biology education
    • Reviewers provide recommendations: accept without revision, accept with minor revisions, accept with major revisions, or reject.
  5. Editorial Decision:
    • The editor considers the reviewers' feedback and makes a final decision regarding the manuscript.
    • The decision and reviewers' comments are communicated to the authors for further action.
  6. Author Revision:
    • Authors are required to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' feedback and comments.
    • Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe.
  7. Further Review by Reviewers:
    • Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.
    • Reviewers assess whether the revisions are adequate and address the provided suggestions.
  8. Final Decision:
    • The editor makes a final decision based on the review of the revised manuscript.
    • If accepted, the manuscript is scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue of JBIOEDRA.
  9. Publication:
    • Accepted manuscripts undergo final editing and formatting before being published online and in print.
